Along with the deepening reform of higher education and the rapid expansion of the enrollment of students, many colleges and universities generally fell into the plight of the experimental teaching, as demonstrated by hardware inadequate facilities, limited space-time teaching, teaching methods and means backward. Network courses due to numerous branchs and complicated content, this contradiction is reflected in the still outstanding. We must adapt to the future society's demand for qualified personnel, the urgent need to resolve this issue.The rapid development of the computer and the network communication, especially the virtualization technology and its supporting software matures, the promotion to generation of the thought that"virtual network structure using the software to virtualize hardware devices", it is a settlement of traditional teaching and experiments by time, location, equipment constraints of the status quo provided a useful reference for teachers and students to set up a platform independent, becomes important choices to improve network theory and practical courses teaching quality.This paper starts from the application and development situation of current virtualization technology, leads to the concept of virtual machine and its explaination, makes a detailed comparison between the two most popular virtual machine software VMware and Virtual PC, and then determine to take VMware which has the obvious advantages as a tool to set up virtual network framework. Next on the development of VMware, related terms, product features and content, as well as three working models such as bridging, host-only and NAT were compared, and makes a detailed explanation for the types of commonly used operating system in its installation and configuration.This paper focuses on the establishment of the Virtual Network Teaching Framework. That is according to the research direction of Network types courses, Divides the practical contents to a peer-to-peer network template, client / server networking template, network routers and network security template and so on four from the concept, and then use multi-systems network framework Constructed by VMware to achieve these four functional template. Considers the practical complexity of network-type Courses, carries on the development on the four basis template can adapt to the majority of experiments. However, in the simulation of switches and routers, VMware can not provide users of the equipment for the true feelings. At this time, like Boson NetSim and so on true network simulator can be added so that the Virtual Network Framework more perfect.Through the function test to the constructed Virtual Network Teaching Framework, the results show that the use of the virtual machine technology and Template construction method elaborated in this paper, can simulates a lot of real experimental scenarios in the virtual environment, and can display theprocess of experiment through video. The Virtual Network Framework based on multi-systems with good interactivity, applicability, scalability and real-time, elaborated the contents of this paper is practical feasible, and have some practical value and prospects.
