Information technology has developed rapidly recently. The integrative system of coordinated exploration network fulfills multiple sensors on multiple platforms are able to transfer the radar video image to the command headquarters. A problem need to resolve is how to reliably transfer the original radar video image on a relatively narrow band. So research on the radar video image compression and reliable transfer has significant value in application. The data compression technique of radar video image is studied firstly in this paper. According to the data structure of radar information, a threshold is set, under which sampling value is reset to 0.After this, and radar information contains a lot of 0 data. Zero run length code, taking the advantage of correlation of the radar information, is used then to compress the original 10MBps tolMBps below. This paper analyzes the combination of OFDM and the technique of space time coding and self adapting. Simulating results show space time coding technique ensures the system's reliability and self adapting technique optimize the system's bit allocation, energy assignment, and furthermore reduce the error ratio. Finally, adopting the algorithm of this paper's data compression, radar video image remote transmitting system works as operating software. And Orthogonal Systems' Gemini 8540 works as wireless transmitting equipment, which adopts the combination of OFDM and the technique of space time coding and self adapting. The software and the equipment both are employed in the experiments. Results show the system has a good performance in dada compression, wireless reliability, efficiency and video playback fidelity.
