Workflow Modeling Based On Colored Petri Net And The Convertion To XPDL

Workflow model is one of the most functional parts in a Workflow Management System (WFMS).It is a key to the realization of a WFMS.The study of workflow modeling mainly concerns the way to express clearly and accurately business process within actual application and especially the way to formalizing. Based on Petri net, this thesis presents a new workflow model, which is colored Petri net. This thesis sources from Inner Mongolia natural fund project--A Web-based Workflow System Design and Implementation, Project approval number:200408020808.This thesis discusses the organization model(in order to propose object-oriented organization modeling)and the resource model. The two models both impact process model. Further the thesis gives out the software framework of graphical workflow modeling tool that is based on the colored Petri net graph workflow the modeling tool.According to practical needs the article designs the corresponding data structure. Finally, the thesis has designed XPDL generator.Thus design staff can use the tool to establish business process and in accordance with the model definition make the results to become the computerization of the process definition XPDL which executed by workflow management system.
