Research And Realization Of Hydrology Telemetric Terminal Based On TCP/IP Protocol

Hydrology telemetric system is an information system which implements sensor technology, communication and computer technology for real-time sampling, making report and managing data about rainfall and water level of river or valley. It could provide timely and accurate information of hydrology for related ministry and improve the supervision level.The thesis works out a terminal of hydrology telemetric, based on TCP/IP protocol. By using the Ethernet technology and B/S network structure, the related ministry is capable of observing information of hydrology, such as rainfall and strobe about every measurement point through common IE Explorer via the upper-computer in the center of ministry.The thesis firstly briefly reviews the development history and orientation of hydrology telemetric system. After discussing the method of common wireless and conventional PSTN communication, the opinion of using ATmega128 MCU and Ethernet technology to realize the communication of the system is put forward here. This technology makes fully use of current mature technology and facility of network, which not only realizes share of much more resources, costs down the expense of building network, but also improves the system capability, extends its application field. By comparison with various precept of network connection, the structure of single chip MCU plus Network-card IC is established. The design includes hardware and software parts. Hardware design mainly includes processor module, design of Human-machine interface module, data sampling module and communication module. With regard to software design, it simplifies the protocol of standard TCP/IP by analysis of this protocol and system requirements, then implements protocol of HTTP. The results of experimentation tests for the telemetric terminal make sure that the expected function of this terminal, based on TCP/IP protocol, is achieved.
