Application Specific Instruction Set Processor has both the flexibility and efficiency to the target application area. It has become a hot issue on designing digital signal processor that how to realize ASIP rapidly and efficiently. Coupled a special function unit in ASIP can effectively enhance the efficiency, but its specificity restricted the quantity of the application which can be accelerated. Reconfigurable computing can help ASIP designers to overcome the specificity of the functional units. The commonly used method is coupled fine-grained reconfigurable functional units. This method can achieved any function under the precondition of enough capacity, but its application applicability brings the higher design price cost.Domain-specific Reconfigurable Function Units (DSRFU), which existed between the special function unit and fine-grained reconfigurable functional units, can easily compromise flexibility and efficiency. Considering efficiency and reliability of the design, this subject proposes Automatic Generation of DSRFU. The method has the following characteristics :①It can improve the execution efficiency of software in the condition without modifying the code;②Automatic generated Basic Function Unit (BFU) has good performance and its generation procedure can be called by other program(s) directly;③Based on flexible Transport Triggered Architecture (TTA) and reconfigurable interconnection among the BFUs in DSRFU can ensure sufficient flexibility and adaptability. Three algorithms (public key algorithm, symmetric cipher algorithm and cryptographic hash algorithm) in cipher domain indicate that this method can generate DSRFU correctly and effectively, and the generated DSRFUs can bring 56.3%~93.4% performance enhanced.
