The Upgrade And Implementation Of Program-controlled Telephone Network

This thesis traces back to the history of the development of Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and analyzes the features of it. And the author summarizes the disadvantages of PSTN. PSTN could not meet the demand of the changing market any more。The rapid development of techniques of "internet" and ".com" or the improvement of IP promotes the appearance of NGN in the world. The developmental trend calls for NGN to improve the current situation in finance difficulty of PSTN. Therefore, to improve current network in telephone is necessary and important.Based on the above reasoning, a strategy of upgrade and implementation of telephone network in Hainan Porvince is discussed in the thesis. The main research topics in the project are: how to adopt the techniques of NGN in improvement of the current network? How to make the two kinds of network work compatibly? The author suggests that a major step is to adopt the soft-exchange equipment of NGN to replace the one of PSTN. Besides, using the techniques of SHLR in the collection and management of users' information would benefit for the improvement of current telephone network. The problems in transition of the two kinds of techniques in telephone network can be solved successfully. Furthermore, lots of valuable suggestions in using resources of equipments and techniques of the two kinds of telephone network is proposed appropriately.
