Because there are many sensors and controllers in a big measurement system, so reducing the amount of network bus is needed to predigest the routes, save room and maintain our system easily. And if the sensor can be self-identified, the mistakes appeared that connect and maintain the system will be reduced greatly and the efficiency will be improved. Based of all of this, IEEE1451 international standard organization proposed a current interface standard for smart sensor called IEEE1451 Standard since 1993. This paper takes IEPE accelerator as example designed a current platform for smart piezoelectricity sensor based on the IEEE1451 Standard.At first the paper introduced the concept of IEEE1451 Standard, 1-Wire bus technology and piezoelectricity sensor. This paper finds a new method to save all the TEDS Date on the EEPROM inside of sensors according to the Transducer Electronic Date Sheet (TEDS) defined by IEEE1451 Standard. The Date on TEDS includes much information of sensors such as model ID, model number, serial number, version letter, and some basic information of sensor such as sensitivity, measurement range, temperature coefficient, quality factor, and also user date and calibration date.In this paper, DS2430A 256 bits 1-Wire programmable read-only memorizer is taken as the memorizer of TEDS date, which is embed in the IEPE accelerometer. DS9097U 1-Wire COM serial adapter produced by Dallas Semiconductor is adopted to connect the DS2430A and the computer to transfer date between them. At last, the date of TEDS can be read and write through LabVIEW application on the computer. And then the sensor will take the information itself and made to be self-identified. Then the traditional sensor can be made to be smart and Plug-and-play.
