The energy crisis is strengthened day by day. So the study on energy- conservation becomes the most important subject that is concerned by the world. Regenerative heating furnace is a new kind of heating furnace emerging as the times require. The regenerative heating furnace adopts High Temperature Air Combustion technique, having improved greatly the hot reclaim rate, conserving energy and protecting environment. The regenerative heating furnace is being popularized on a large scale at present.The heating furnace is the main equipment of consuming energy in metallurgical enterprise. The automatic control of heating furnace is an important research direction in the process control field. The heating furnace in many iron and steel enterprises in our country has not been realized automatic control now. The regenerative heating furnace must adopt the high-frequency reversing valve, so manual operation isn't obviously practical. Under the condition the capability of control system must be improved. It is pivotal to achieve excellent performance of control system according to the actual requirement.This paper explains the whole design process of automatic control system in detail, according to technological process of the Northeast special steel group Fushun special steel mill 850 workshop newly-built soaking furnace. Control of furnace temperatureadopts the control algorithm to multiple mode segment-P-fuzzy-PI control. Thealgorithm comprehensive the advantage of PID control and fuzzy control, the system response is quick and overshoot is small and no steady-state error. Considering the influence of furnace pressure and temperature, the sytem choose different control strategy according to different stove condition. It reduces influence between furnace temperature and pressure. This thesis puts forward a new estimating control system of dispersing type. It may extend the using life of reversing valve and regenerator. The thesis adopts Matlab software to emulation of P-fuzzy-PI control and compares their emulation result. In general, P-fuzzy-PI control is most excellent.
