In the field of iron and steel smelting, many processes, such as heating andannealing, are required for heating the billet, and the heating furnace is a kind ofindustrial furnace which can ensure the temperature uniformity and heating requirement.With the Chinese Twelfth Five-Year Plan entering a crucial stage, energy conservationand emission reduction has become an inevitable requirement for establishing aresource-conserving and environmentally friendly society.However, compared to otherfurnaces, the regenerative heating furnace not only has the advantages of uniformheating and producing high quality of billet, but also can lower the temperature ofexhaust gas and reduce the NOXdue to the full use of waste heat.Using the RegenerativeHeating Furnace can effectively improve the energy efficiency, and reduce the pollutionto the environment at the same time.Based on the adequate study of the working principle of the regenerative heatingfurnace and related ignition controller, this paper designed an ignition controller to meetthe need of heating silicon iron.The MCU, named C8051F060, is the data processingand controlling core of the ignition controller, and PT100is the temperature sensor totest the exhaust gas temperature.The MCU controls the valves of the burner accordingto the exhaust gas temperature, to make sure that the burner is in working order.Besides,the LED display can show the exhaust gas temperature, alarm status and work state, andusers can set valves through pressing the key.Finally the group of ignition controllers can communicate with the PC by using anetwork.It can not only master all of the ignition controllers’ running state by themonitoring software, but also can control the ignition controllers remotely.This systemis composed of ignition controllers and a monitoring software, which not only has lowcost and simple construction,but also is easily-maintained, safe and stable.
