Implementation Of DM Protocol Based On Windows Mobile

Along with economic and technological development, the phone is not only used for making call, but also integrated with more and more applications. So far, the mobile phone has their own OS. Users can use the mobile phone as using computer. But the phone is different from the computer, users has to configure the phone correctly. It is difficult to configure the phone correctly, even to the specialist. Every phone's OS has their own configurations, and the abstract interface is difficult to understand and use.OMA DM protocol is an open and unified industrial standard for managing the remote device within the network. Using DM protocol, the server can configure the parameters, repair the service error and update the software.In the OMA DM protocol, the message has three kinds: (1) Notify phase; Initialize the management session. (2 ) Configure phase; Exchange the authentication and deivce information; (3) Management phase.In the beginning of the paper, the author analyzes two protocolss for managing the mobile device, and elaborates the similar points and differences, that is why to choose the DM protocol. Then, the author discusses the DM protocol in detail, particularly on the process of the DM protocol and the coding of the DM messages. At the last, the author implements the DM protocol based on the Windows Mobile. At the current phrase, the author has completed two functions: information gathering and the configuration of the device. At the next phrase, the author will go through with other functions, such as firmware update, fault diagnosis.
