Data acquisition, signal processing and information display of radar are important components of Radar Display System. The system not only has to measure the target accurately, but also has to process the data obtaining from radar in high efficiency and shows the information of target to the radar operators effectively and accurately.With the rapid development of computer technology, graphics and image processing technology and electronic technology, the generic computer can be used as a raster scanning radar display terminal, which can show the computer's powerful functions so that the computer can complete the radar data processing fast and flexibly. The digital signal processor has powerful signal processing capability, which makes the real time digital signal processing come true. Computer graphics and digital image processing technology makes it convenient to realize the radar display terminal. The powerful software programs make varieties of information fusing with the radar data display in the terminal together which has become a trend of the radar system development.This paper, basing on the practical requirements and directions of development for marine navigation radar, designs and implements the computer-based radar integrated information display system, which can acquire and process radar data. The analog radar echo is converted into digital signal by A/D, which can be processed by the universal DSP and FPGA. And the polar coordinate of the echo signal is conversed into right-angle coordinate. The board communicates with computer through the high speed PCI bus by the DMA mode, and then the radar data is used by the display terminal. The display terminal bases on DirectDraw of DirectX, and the graphic display of DirectDraw environment is constructed in the Visual C++ 6.0. The radar image is superimposed display with the electronic chart background, and the radar scans with the radar antenna simultaneously. The key issues in the radar system have been solved, which are data transmission, coordinate conversion and the radar image correctly superimposing with electronic chart. A friendly interface has been designed, which can adjust the display range and set the parameters of radar, and is easy to operate.
