The note-checking equipment has become necessary in economy living and the society. It has to be developing as the other technologies advance. Under this surrounding, laser technology applied to it, SL(semiconductor lasers) are the key to this technology.In order to insure the work of the note-checking equipment, the wavelength of SL must be kept steady. The TCS(temperature control system) can just stabilize the wavelength of SL. In recent years, semiconductor refrigeration technology has attracted much interest in this field of the TCS applied for SL. Because of its characteristics, it has been applied for the TCS more and more and the traditional TCS is gradually replaced. The paper included systemic study of the TCS for SL, the analysis of semiconductor refrigeration and the better application design for TCS.Based on the effect of SL under temperature's change, analyzing the TCS need of SL, the theory of semiconductor refrigeration and the application are expected. Two designs for TCS have been proposed which are based on the analog circuit and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). The design of analog circuit has been introduced in its structure and the hardware design and the function module design and realization have expounded in FPGA design. An experiment system for the design of analog circuit was setup to observe the impact of the SL, measure the data and analyze the data, the simulating was done for the FPGA design. The results indicate that the two designs for TCS can achieve the system request.
