A high efficiency peak current-mode boost DC-DC converter integrated circuit is designed on the basis of the project"Theoretical research and design of key techniques for deep-submicron power management IC and mixed-signal IC". The author is responsible for designing a power management integrated circuit for TFT-LCD.This paper beginning from the switching mode regulator, based on discussing the work principle of DC-DC converter and some feedback control modes which are used widely in current DC-DC converter IC design, finally adopt the peak current PWM control mode for the power management IC system. Focusing on the advantages and diadvantages of the peak current PWM control mode, compensation circuit for system stabilization is designed in the high efficiency DC-DC converter. This Boost DC-DC converter with N-channel switching MOSFET can generate three working frequencies for using , the efficiency is up to 85%. Then, XDJ6398 whole detail system design and key sub-blocks circuit design are both presented, also including each simulation results.By using advanced EDA tools such as Hspice and Workview, based on 0.65um BCD process, the author has completed the circuit design and the pre-simulation of XDJ6398. The pre-simulation results indicate that XDJ6398 has met the given electrical characteristics.
