With the development of microelectronics technologies and high-speed devices, Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is used for civil purpose in recent years. Ultra-wideband (UWB) communication is an unconventional radio method with excellent performance, low power consumption and low cost. It is an attractive technology for high data-rate indoor wireless networks. On this background, the ultra-wideband antennas for short range wireless communication applications are studied in this paper.The paper is mainly about how to realize UWB antennas. Many types of UWB antennas are investigated firstly. Based on the research, a new type of microstrip UWB antenna fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) is proposed.
