In recent years , as the development of the global market , the competition between mechanical corporations is getting more serious. Cut the design and production time of the products, reduce the cost of the products, share and use the design resources existed, these become the urgent requirememt of every enterprise. Researching and realizing the exchange and share of the data of the parts library between different CAD systems is a must of the competition, and become more and more important to the companies.The goal of the Plib standard (officially ISO 13584, Parts Library) is to define a neutral format for the representation of pre-existing components, thus providing for exchanging parts libraries heterogeneous systems, such as CAD, CAM, CAPP, PDM . It is a important standard to exchange the data of the parts library.To solve the disadvantages of the recent methods of the realization parts library information models , This article analyzes the relation between PLIB and STEP, and use STEP feature models to realize parts library information models.This article study the feature and feature models, especially the feature models in the STEP AP214. The definition and identifier of the feature, and entities relations in the feature are particularly in research. The parts library information models and the feature in the parts library information models are also in research too.This article realize the part feature and part feature library based on STEP AP214, realize the parts library information models based on feature, and realize the exchange and share of the data of the parts library between different CAD systems...
