Organic light-emitting diode(OLED) has been widely applied to many fields and obtained greatly success since it has been invented. The merits of OLED contain: (1) easy to realize full color display due to the wide choice scope of organic electroluminesent materials;(2) high brightness and luminescence efficiency;(3) low direct current drive voltage and low power consumption, can match with integration drive circuit;(4) simple fabrication technologies and low cost;(5) can realize great area flat panel display, have wide visual angle;(6) can make into different figures because of their good machine processing capability. OILED is organic inverted light-emitting device with a cathode as a bottom contact on silicon wafer. It is compatible with advanced microelectronics. We study organic light-emitting materials and diodes accompanied by the Natural Science Fund of China with the No.60276026.In thesis, the development, questions of OLED are described systematically. What is more, explain how to choice materials used in OLED. In common use organic light-emitting materials and their energy band structure expression method are described. Organic light-emitting materials contain organic small molecule materials, polymers, metal chelates and lanthanon chelates. Device configuration and work principle of OLED are simply described. In order to improve efficiency, natural life and reliability, electrode is modified. At last, introduce how to fabricate green OLED, characteristic of current-voltage(I-V) and luminance-voltage(L-V). A notable phenomenon is observed that a negative-resistance characteristic curve appeared when the bias of OILED was higher voltage. The theoretic explanation of the phenomenon is given. We deposit protected layer(PL) to protect the device before sputtering ITO.
