Internet has become one of the important information infrastructure in society, it is closely linked to our life, and it is an important long-distance transmission media for sharing information .At the same time, with the development of computer technology, cheap, various size delicate embeded equipment has been extensively applied, these applications which need to connect to the network are growing rapidly, therefore, embeded systems with the network protocol have become an important direction.Lots of embeded equipments connected to the network have made IPv4 address shortage increasingly, IPv6 has not only a good solution addresses shortage, but also with non-state addresses automatic configuration, quality of service, safety, and other aspects advantages as an embedded equipment interconnection preferred.Based on SkyEye platform, this article explained the mechanisms how to realize IPv6 protocol stack in an embedded system with limited resources , the protocol stack including IPv6, ICMPv6, neighbour discovery, and it expands TCP and UDP module,, it has small code size, runs with small RAM, it is a universal solution, and it is transplantable and expansible for the use of IPv6 in an embedded equipment. Further more, this thesis list out some important data structures,process flowing and system interfaces etc. , provide of some kernel processing flow and new views;For some confusion process points, flowing chart of each processing step are taken.Finally, we have analyse IPv6 through grabbing package, compared IPv6 with IPv4 on performance, the experiments proved that with our protocol, the embedded equipment can work properly.
