The collecting and pumping water systems in the railway system of China haveseveral disadvantages,such as shortage of monitoring projects,excess exploiting andserious energy dissipation, etc. With the development of technology,there are more andmore Pumping Station monitoring systems,but many of them are simple DCSdistribution control system,which can only measure the data related to the ground partsof the pump well,and have no way to know the key data of the underground parts. Formany years,one can not find an integrated automation technology solution for pumproom which features overall and cost-effective advantage.Our project team takes three-phase power lines of the submersible motor ascommunication channel and uses the power line communication(PLC) technology tomeasure the data of the underground motors,submersible pump and ground water.With the key problems solved, we can gain more measuring data,which include notonly the real-time temperatures,rotate speed and phase sequence of the undergroundmotors, pressures of the pumping hole, vibration and water level, but also the electricquantity, collecting water quantity about the ground well, the motor insulator, the waterlevel of the reservoir or pool outside the pump room, the remaining chlorine in thewater, etc. The measured items can help increasing the multilevel protections, improvingpumping room monitoring automation to a new level,making a reasonable mining ofdeep well,and reducing energy consumption effectively.The collecting water pump rooms governed by the railway bureau or Sub-bureaucan be transformed into measurement-control network systems through wireless publicGPRS and wired MODEM communication net. The configuration interface , which iseasy to develop, is used as host software, and convenient to management andmaintenance. All of the data sources can support railway TMIS management system andbackground application SCADA dispatch system effectively.
