The Design And Implementation Of Network Billing Management System Based On SNMP

With the development of internet, recently, government and most schools and companies have established their own network system. Except investigate for the internet when it is constructed, companies confront problems of cost of the using internet. According to "Who use, Who pay" principle, establish one's own internet statistic charging system and know every department of the company and user's situation of using internet to collect proper charge for using internet, is helpful for reinforce the management of internet, guarantee using internet properly and efficiently.The premise of implementing billing management system is to get the quantity of communication flow in LAN internet system.Then analyse and statistic the flow according to billing policy .As a result, how to get the quantity of communication flow and statistic the flow quickly and accurately is the key to implement the billing operation system. This paper proposes the implementation ways of the network account data collecting, and analyses the merit and shortage of these methods.It gives a design: use SNMP protocol to read/write the MIB variable of internet devices and then gather user data.The idea of the system design is: The network devices MIB can be read by SNMP protocol, charge system is implemented by read MIB library of the devices with SNMP protocol.Using SNMP protocol, the management station send Get-Request or Get-Next-Request and can get specified information from network devices that support SNMP protocol. And management Agent use Get-Response to response Get-Request to gather charge data of the user who has fixed IP address.Charge data acquisition station perform the SNMP management role. In the implementation of this system used SNMP package, with its help, implementing SNMP became not so difficult.Use SNMP command, get the data that the recorded, because SNMP is simple and pragmatic, this system is convenient to use. Internet flow acquisition system can be installed any computer in the LAN, and will not have to alter the framework of internet and add hardware, so it is easy to install and the cost is small. The structure of the system is B/Smode, it just need a browser to operation Billing system. The main function modes of the system include device management module, user management module, billing management module, statistics module and CSS module. All the system is developed on Linux RedHat 9.0 platform, based on PHP, so the system is easy to repot.
