Ad Hoc network, also named as self-organized network, is a temporarily formed multi-hop wireless communication network without any infrastructure. In which mobile nodes cooperate to route packets by themselves via wireless link. The network features in high mobility, fast deployment and etc., and can be applied to modern battle field, disaster rescue, conference and other environments, therefore it has drawn wide attention from the military and the academic. Nevertheless, there are still several problems, such as the ones caused by node mobility, constraint of energy capacitance and computing ability of nodes, completely distributed environment and etc. Up to now, the technology has been initially applied, therefore it's valuable to do research on it.Compared with general wire network, Ad Hoc network has different features and has different problems. Among these problems, the energy limit raises great concern. Researchers have put forward some measures like improving power technology and closing off network to extend the network's life expectancy. In addition, they also proposed route algorithms of saving nodes' battery energy to attain the same goal, like MBCR and etc. However, these algorithms have their own disadvantage.Firstly, the dissertation introduces the development process and its related research of Ad hoc network. Then a deep research has been done on route technology and energy-saving schemes. According to the research work, we proposed a new route protocol which can replace routes with least hops with routes with least energy consumption. This protocol concerns the remainder energy and present energy consumption of all nodes in the process of route selection. To reduce the replicable route, it establish multi-path route in routes table. The simulation experiment has fully proved that the protocol has made great improvements in network energy-saving, network output and time-lapse. The dissertation concludes with the summarization of present research work and the prospect of further research work.
