The enormous information becomes a holdup gradually in processing and transmission of video images With the rising demand for real-time in Industrial field. DSP (digital signal processor) with high-speed operation and good performance can solve this problem. With the continuous development and applications of DSP technology,its scalability has also been further improved to meet higher levels of integration and scalability requirements. In this paper,I design a video capture and intelligent tracking system with the core of TMS320DM642.According to design requirements, this paper discusses the key content as following:1. Overview of the development and current situation of video image acquisition and processing technology。2. Complete hardware platform design, according to a module to build the hardware platform.3. Creating a software of the video capturing and tracking system based on DSP/BIOS embedded operating system. The software system using TI's frame of reference RF5, setting different tasks for each application by modules to complete the video image acquisition,processing,transmiossion and other functions.4. According to difference algorithmbased on the dynamic background and Kalman predictor extract the contours of traget objects to achieve the tracking performance.5. Through the TI Network Developer's Kit (NDK) for network transmission. Through the above-mentioned design steps, the system extract contour features of traget objects in order to achieve real-time tracking of targets, Improve the system and achieve real-time network transmission function based on high quality and integrity of the Images.
