With the multimedia technology and broadband network transmission technology rapid development, video collection and video transmission system have also been rapid development in recent years. Video transmission system is the key technologies in the areas of video conferencing, remote video surveillance and industrial automation. In this paper, we have designed and developed a multi-channel video capture and embedded network video transmission system based on DSP.This paper builts a set of embedded video transmission system which based on B/S network. This paper uses TI company DSP chip TMS320DM642 as the core of the video transmission system processing chip. System uses four video cameras to capture video images. The collected video signals will be transmitted to the local displays with coaxial cable. Local display can display four road split-screen displays. The system will also send video signals to the network. Customer machines on the network can be remote monitoring.Video capture part of the system uses CCD camera. System uses video decoder SAA7113H to decode analog video signals. Digital video signals will be moved, processed and compressed in the processor chip DM642. System network part adopts Ethernet transceiver and EMAC module of the DM642 to transfer network video data. The compressed digital video data will be packed into a network packet and sent to the network eventually. System uses DSP/BIOS which is a embedded real-time operating system to schedule the various threads. We use Network Development Kit and program reference framework to develop software of the system quickly. Based on browser / server network, the system runs stably, and video images reveal comparative fluently.
