| Since the 1990s, with the rise of Evening News and City News, the trend of entertainment news has become an indisputable fact. Entertainment News, as one of the most representative of the news style, has become an indispensable and important element in the newspaper. However, because China is a vast country and its political and economic development is uneven, there are many differences between northern cities and southern cities in the cultural values, custom, aesthetics, and many other aspects of psychological. Based on these differences and diversity, the reports for entertainment news between South and North are also varied.This paper discussed on the motivations, history, definition and features of the entertainment news in China, and "Yangcheng Evening News" and "Beijing Evening News" are selected as perspective representative samples for comparison from different views in the layout, column, content choice, news perspectives and news language. Article tried to find out not only two typical features of entertainment coverage, but also the interactions between urban culture and the news media. The in-depth analysis of reason, which brings the vast differences between South and North in entertainment news, is given out. For entertainment news text of the popular press in Beijing and Guangdong, this paper carried out in-depth comparison, analysis, interpretation and evaluation, hoped to break the bias of the news readers and researchers on the entertainment news, and expected to provide some reference ideas for the benign development of Chinese entertainment news in the future. |
