Stereo image technology is one of the important research branchs. in the image field. This technology has very broad application prospects in scientific research, military, educational, industrial, medical, commerce and so on. We can use Stereo vidicon or depth map vidicon to achieve Stereo image, but both of them cost too much and needs professional vidicon and professional cameraman, furthermore, there is a mass of job to do later. Planar images to Stereo image technology is a method that can achieve Stereo image from multi-viewpoint images.this technology use ordinary vidicon to shoot the same environment from different but closely viewpoints and get the multi-viewpoint images,or generate the Virtual viewpoint images.After compose those multi-viewpoint imges,we can see the Stereo image on autostereoscopic display.multi-viewpoint autostereoscopic can provide Stereo image even the observer change the observe position.But observe the Stereo image generated by multi-viewpoint images, if change the observe position, there is"abrupt spinning or flicker".In order to obtain natural and smooth effect, parallax calibration is necessary.This paper first introduces the human stereoscopic vision theory, stereoscopic display theory as well as plane image generate Stereo image theory, then analyses how there be"abrupt spinning and flicker",after that, through parallax calibration of multi-viewpoint images method to eliminate this phenomena.And the work of parallax calibration of multi-viewpoint images includes zero parallax pixel selecting, zero parallax matching, zero parallax aligning, and zero parallax adjusting.By displaying the Stereo image on autostereoscopic display, we can see the"abrupt spinning and flicker"has been eliminated after parallax calibration of multi-viewpoint images.
