Hall sensor, having the advantage of durable, small, light, low power consume, easy installment, being able to work at high clock frequency, aseismatic and anti-erosion, has been widely used in measurement, industry automation, communication and electrical home appliances. Based on the study of the hall sensor, the article has presented the design, simulate and test of a hall sensor.The major work of the thesis is to design a hall sensor used in brushless DC motor to test the magnetic field and supply current for the loop. The design has been taped out in two technics,0.5um CMOS technology of CSMC and 0.18um CMOS technology of Xfab. The thesis details the design of integrated hall sensor, including design and simulation of the hall plate, design of sensor circuit, layout and test of the chip.First, we introduce principle and property of the hall plate, and analyze the performance of hall plate by using TCAD of SILVACO company, then makes a module for Circuit simulation according to the simulation result. Then the major principle of the design is introduced and the solution of the main difficult in hall sensor, offset voltage cancellation, is introduced and analyzed for the further design.Then the Hall sensor structure and the function parameters are introduced according to the usage before the circuit design. The implementations of each structure is discussed, designed according to the design request and simulated. Then every structure is combined together to make a System simulation to make sure the function is correct. And the layout of the design is made.The chip has been taped out by CSMC 0. Sum CMOS technology and Xfab 0.18um CMOS technology. Test plan and test environment is completed for the design test after the chip had been taped out. The chips were bound to PBC boards to do test. Analyze and adjustment is made according to the test results. The chip The chip using Xfab technology has realized function of detecting magnetic field and modulate the output power consume. Compared to 1mm*1mm, the common hall sensor size, the design has minimized the chip to 0.6mm*0.8mm. The design has advantage in chip size and product cost, which has reached the international advanced level.
