How Does China Deal With The Internet Supervision By Public Opinion

The news consensus supervision is one important political function of mass media, and the news consensus has played an important role in supervising governmental powers. With the highly development of Internet in the whole world, network media is playing an ever more significant role in the countries' political life. There are three forms of expression for network media: real-time, greater interactivity, and higher public participation, and the Internet supervision by public opinion have become a kind of available form of intendance as the populace uses the network media to express their opinions. In the last few years, the important functions of the Internet consensus supervision are emerging, such as the"South China tiger", the"Open-chest check lung", etc. With this new form of consensus supervision, the populace can supervise the government state power, corruption, decision-making, and the implementation of policies.In 2010, the Internet consensus supervision made the'Sordid Diary'become hot issue, and positively promoted the process of this event. According to this case, I want to analyze how China deals with the Internet supervision by public opinion. This paper is divided into three parts:The first part: the present situation of consensus supervision in China. This chapter will take the"Sordid Diary"for an example, and this case presents the problems of government and traditional media.The second part: the function and localization of Internet consensus supervision. Compare to the government and traditional media, the form of Internet supervision is available, but at the same time, it also shows deficiency.The third part: what measures the Chinese government should adopt to deal with the Internet consensus supervision. On the basis of the first two parts, the focal point of this chapter is analyze what counter-measures should be taken.
