The Design And Implementation Of Packet Data Gatway System Based On Multi-core Processors

Data communications network has spread to the world everywhere. Connected to Internet, the PCs, cell phones and web servers have became a huge network. Continue growth of network bandwidth and complexity of Internet services requires the communications gateway equipment have ability to provide high throughput data forwarding and multiple functions of service supporting. Use multi-core processors to implement broadband packet data communications network equipment has great advantages and broad prospects for applications, which is one of the hot spots.At first, the packet data communications network features is analyzed in this paper. From TCP / IP communication protocol characteristics, the network topology, the flow characteristics of Internet users the gateway system is advanced new features. Then with illustration on the processor technology, memory technology, hardware acceleration engine, and high speed communication interface, a multi-core processors based packet data communications gateway system is designed, and related modules for the implemention of the system are put forward in the paper. The main work is focused on the hardware sub-sytem design.
