Media industry is a set of enterprises which produce media production. China scholars think it should embrace ten sub-industries, such as television, radio, newspapers, mobile media, book publishing, audio-visual, movies, online media, periodicals, advertising, etc. The media industry is a special and compound industry, producing material and spiritual products simultaneously. It is an important industry restricted by and with reaction to national economic. In the world, the media industry is thriving in US, Japan and Western Europe. Statistics show that about 4/5 global press daily released by four major Western news agencies, and 50% global film time shared by America movies. In the other hand, media industry in The North Korea, Latin America and North Africa is shabby and the voice from these areas even couldn't be heard. In china, media industry in east coast is developed and relative backward in western inland areas.The paper mainly studies media industry's developing problems of Liaoning, divided into six parts. The first part is introduction which focuses on the background of media industry at home and abroad, and introduces the writing methods and research significance. The second part mainly summaries theories of economic and journalism and communication and so on. The third part does a general description on the status of media industry from macro at home and abroad. The fourth part is the highlight. Here the paper analyzes the media industry's development issues of Liaoning from six aspects, including the status of media in Liaoning, disseminating capability, channel construction, collaboration of media with geographical economic system, the competitive power and regulation of media, and so on. In the fifth part, we proposed the comment and suggestion on the Liaoning media industry from six respects, such as market environment, innovative, regulation, channel construction, platform integration and media personnel's training, etc. The last part is the paper's conclusions and prospect. The paper believes that the media industry in Liaoning must acquire great progress, as long recognized the problems and taking effective measures.
