With the development of information and communication industry, more and more embedded equipments have been used in people's work and life.The most important aspect of developing embedded system is developing the guide module. Bootloader is dependent on the processor system structure and hardware platform. Its basic function is to boot and load the operating system kernel mirror image.Bootloader as a crucial ingredient of the embedded system, bootloader is significant to be researched and accomplished.This thesis expounds the design and implementation of bootloader based on MIPS. In theory, it obtain the overall structure via the research of generaduty bootloader and conducts an analysis to operation mode, program code and so on.Based on the hardware platform AX54MSB finished more complex system. Including switches between two models and supporting for additional hardware modules, such as Nor Flash erase and written operation. Through erase and write Nor Flash to update the Bootloader version and environment variables. Finally, this thesis tests bootloader in AX54MSB evaluation board. Experimental results show that the Bootloader can stably run in hardware platform.
