Study On The Construction Of The Pseudo-environment For "the Melamine Incident" In The Three USA Television Networks

American news reporting about China is always a hot topic among scholarly study. This thesis is based on the study of the news report on"Melamine Milk"in the three big US television networks and aims to discover the mimicry environment of China image built by the three big US television networks. The great difference of"the mimicry environment"and"the actual environment"put China at a disadvantage on external communication.In this thesis,there are quantitative analysis on news reporting frequency, news reporting theme and content,news reporting sources and news reporting languages to describe and analyze how the"the mimicry environment"stray far away from"the actual environment". Also, qualitative analysis methods are also applied to analyze hidden approaches of US Television news reporting about China,and provides experience with China external communication for reference.The thesis draws a conclusion that untruthful description about China in US Televison news media and also other western media do exist. And"the mimicry environment"they invented is just one part or distortion of the truth which breaks away from"the actual environment"and greatly stains China image among western audience。China external communication media have to uphold its independent policy , trivialize ideological forms,obtain the best opportunity and launch an active attack to have China say in the world which will also bring the balance of information flow between East and West and construct a beneficial mimicry environment.
