Communication Semiology Studies Of In-depth Reports Of Current Political Affairs Based On NAN FANG ZHOU MO

This thesis aims to probe into the characteristics and essence of communication semiology in the in-depth reports of current political affairs. It takes as its case study a particular in-depth report of current political affairs in NAN FANG ZHOU MO. It intends to comprehend and interpret the discourse and the underlying ideology hidden in this report from the angle of communication semiology.This thesis begins with the definitions of news discourse and ideology in communication semiology .Then it makes a review of the relevant communication semiology studies and defines the research framework and methodolgies of this thesis. After that, the feasibility of using communication semiology to benefit this research is proved.This thesis takes a particular report of this kind from NAN FANG ZHOU MO. Based on the theories of van Dijk's news discourse analysis and social cognition, it makes a detailed analysis of this report in terms of report framework, significance, micro-proposition and macro-proposition. By so doing this thesis intends to reveal the feature and essence of communication semiolgy in this report.Finally this thesis argues that the realization of report theme in text and context is to express the hidden in-depth ideology.
