A Study On The Chapter Of The Analects Of Confucius

Chapter “four students sitting in attendance” has several distinctive feature:Firstly,the whole chapter have many words which is very special in the Analects of Confucius;Secondly,there are a lot of controversy in this chapter from the Han Dynasty and the ambition of Zeng Dian is called “the most controversial issue”;Thirdly,the whole chapter have a significant impact to literature and aesthetics.The study in each historical period have distinctive features.By study this issue in each historical period,we combed the history of Confucianism and in-depth understanding of this chapter.The center of the research work in this chapter is try to figure out the real ambition of Zeng Dian.The research of Zeng Dian and Musical Instruments “Se” provide important evidence to our thesis:the ambition of Zeng Dian is organize and participate in Yu ritual.His purpose is to express the idea that the country can be governed by Li and Yue.We believe that this interpretation consistent with Confucianism and real ambition of Zeng Dian.This chapter contains Confucius thought and ritual educational thought with great value.This paper attempts to study Confucianism in a new perspective and we hope more researchers pay attention to this chapter.
