Objective:Stranguria refers to a disease with acerbity pain and urgent, short urine. According to the characteristics of the different causes and symptoms, it can be divided into heat stranguria, urolithic stranguria, stranguria due to disturbance of qi, stranguria due to hematuria, stranguria due to chyluria, stranguria due to overstrain, etc. Its etiology has internal and external cause, but the main pathological factors are hot and humid. The pathological changes of kidney and bladder is of great importance. The disease is same as urinary infection, tumor, tuberculosis, calculi, prostatitis, prostatic hypertrophy and chyluria, is common and frequently-occurring disease. Fully research the ancient literature of the diagnosis and treatment experience, to provide more reference for clinical method, in order to improve the clinical curative effect.Methods and results:The article applys the traditional philology research methods to introduce stranguria from three aspects. It includes the disease origin, key medical books, some problems related stranguria. Every period have it own characteristics and representative books. From this, we can better understand the etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of stranguria.The first part, analyze the diversity of stranguria name. Some names related to urinate symptoms, such as lin sou(stranguria), lin li(stranguria). Some names associated with accompanied symptoms, such as lin man(stranguria), lin bi(stranguria). Before the Han dynasty, Long is the general name of Long, lin, bin.The second part, the most important, the history of stranguria is divided into four periods,Qin and han dynasties jin and tang dynasties, song and jin dynasties, Ming and qing dynasties, stranguria disease is put forward for the first time in Inner Canon of Huangdi. It analyze the reasons of stranguria are heat and damp. Zhang Zhongjing put forward the etiology and pathogenesis is "hot in lower jiao", the key drug pyrrosia leaf and its processing method, the woman drench symptoms and treatment in Treatise on Cold Pathogenic and Miscellaneous Diseases. Wang Shuhe records the pulse of stranguria is "shao yin mai shuo" in Pulse Classic. Chao Yuanfang put forward the classification of stranguria according to patients’sex and age in General Treatise on Causes and Manifestations of All Diseases. Sun Simiao records acupuncture therapy in Essential Recipes for Emergent Use Worth Thousand Gold. Chen Wuze makes a diference of the blood in the urine and stranguria due to hematuria in Treatise on Three Categories of Pathogenic Factors. Shi Fa examines the disease guide system in Cha Bing Zhi Nan. Yang Shiying documents the theory of "avoid repair" in Ren Zhai Zhi Zhi Fang. Zhang Jingyue summarizes the treatment principles in Jingyue’s Complete Works. Zhang Xichun is good at using yam tube, records the stranguria of syphilis firstly in Yin Xue Zhong Zhong Can Xi Lu.The third part, The article discusses some problems about stranguria and put forward some questions to be solved.Conclusion:Analyzes physicians’understanding of stranguria in every dynasty. Record the key basis. Screen some treatment principles and the formulas of diet regulating method which is significance for clinical diagnosis.
