Female post adolescent acne which belong to heat in the lung in traditional Chinese of medicine, is that the female patients older than 25 years old did not become ill at puberty or had only slight symptoms, untill post puberty, or did become ill from adolescence continue to post puberty. There was no significant difference on skin lesions between post adolescent acne and acne vulgaris:acne, infiammatory papules, pustules, nodules, cysts andscars. Other with hirsutism, hair loss, menstrual cycle disorder, erythema on the nasolabial sulcus and nose on both sides of the persistent, greasy. It has a certain loss of capacitive, influences the patient’s mental health and social contact; at the same time, the women at this age stage have much stress from various aspects, their mental status is unhealthy, often with tension, anxiety and so on; The two influence each other, is not conducive to the remission of post adolescent acne. Although western medicine on the cause of acne pathogenesis has certain understanding, but still not entirely clear, so the treatment is just to these have realized pathogenesis. The endocrinotherapy, inhibition of sebaceous glands and keratosis treatment, antibiotic therapy, anti-inflammation therapy etc are used in the clinical. Because the treat by oral administration of western medicine either curative effect is not very ideal, or the side effect is terrible, or the drug resistant, both patients and doctors who are eager to seek high efficacy low side effects of treatments.Studies have shown that the treatment of Chinese medicine is an effective and safe treatment method. This thesis is a clinical observation of Jieyuxiaocuotang about its security and effectiveness which is a experiential prescription of treating female post adolescent acne from my tutor. Objective:To explore the clinical effect of coparing Jieyuxiaocuo decotion with Danshentong capsules by clinical observation, which adopted a randomized, positive contrast methods by observing the improvement of skin lesions and depression status. Methods:The 52 cases of female tardive acne patients, meeting both the traditional Chinese and western medical diagnosis standards and other inclusion criterions, were randomly divided into 2 groups, namely the Treatment Group and Control Group. There were 26 cases in each group. The Treatment Group was administered traditional Chinese medicine Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion, which was uniformly made into granule by the Granule Pharmacy of our hospital. For each dose, there were two bags, one bag each time. The medicine was taken 30 minutes after breakfast and supper respectively, with 200ml of boiled water. The Control Group was administered patent medicine Tanshinone Capsule, 1g (4 granules) each time and three times a day. Fuzhiqing Ointment was externally used to both groups, applied once in the morning and evening respectively. Besides, psychological counseling and behavioral interventions were conducted on both groups. The treatment lasted for 4 weeks. Observations and records were made respectively at the beginning of the treatment, at two weeks and four weeks following the treatment. The improvement in skin lesions and depression of the two groups of patients before and after the treatment was carefully observed. Records were kept of whether or not there were adverse reactions during the drug administration. Results:After 4 weeks of treatment, the Treatment Group saw an overall effective rate of 84.62%, and the Control Group73.08%. Compared with the Tanshinone Capsule, Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion was more clinically effective in the treatment of female tardive acne. The Treatment Group administered traditional Chinese medicine experienced significantly lower scores in skin lesions than the Control Group, and there was statically significant difference (p<0.05). This showed that the two kinds of medicine worked effectively, to varying degrees, in improving the acne-resulting skin lesions; however, the traditional Chinese medicine worked more effectively. As to inter-group comparisons on SDS scores, unexceptionally there were significantly reduced SDS scores for the two groups respectively at the 2nd and 4th week after the treatment. There was statically significant difference (p<0.01). This came as evidence that traditional Chinese medicine worked more effectively in improving patient depression than the Chinese Patent Medicines. No relevant discomforts were clinically observed in the patients. The traditional Chinese medicine Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion was preliminarily proved to be safe.Conclusions:① Both the Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion and Tanshinone Capsule workes effectively, to varying degrees, in improving facial skin lesions of female tardive acne patients with liver stagnation and blood heat. However, the Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion works earlier and more effectively than the Tanshinone Capsule.② For Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion and Tanshinone Capsule, they exert differentiated effect on improving the depression of female tardive acne patients with liver stagnation and blood heat. The Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion works earlier and more effectively in improving the patient depression than the Tanshinone Capsule.③ Effective in the treatment of female tardive acne, the Jieyuxiaocuo Decotion is worth clinically popularized. However, large sample size is still needed for further researches.
