Application Research Of Wavelet Transformation In Image Compression

The main content of the thesis is Implementation of Image Compression by lifting scheme of the image. The basic framework is that, firstly, a brief introduction about static image data compression; and in accordance with the current and future developing trend of image compression, it is believed that wavelet transform will become to be the main technology in image data compression because of its peculiar features. Secondly, with regard to the current-situation in theoretical research in the field of image compression theories, the main task of the thesis is proposed. It is followed by the brief introduction of classic wavelet transform theory and its application in image compression. As to the content concerning image compression by lifting scheme of the image, the reasons for the appearance of lifting scheme of the image are discussed first, and followed by the detailed analysis on the basic principles of lifting scheme of the image, the advantages of it are generalized and the process of it is concluded.Finally, aiming at the problem of complicated theoretical deduction in lifting scheme of the image, the thesis suggests that lifting scheme of the image based on static image can be improved by the use of value inversion theory in numerical analysis and puts forward partially compatible extracting way of calculation based on static image. This way of calculation possesses the nature of lifting scheme of the image, capable of rapidly determining the lifting scheme of the image and realizing the improved way of calculation by the use of C program. Experimental results indicate that this improved way of calculation can produce excellent effect under the condition of smaller static image compression. How to employ this method to further improve static imagecompression ratio is the work that needs to be done in the following step.
