| In recent years, the topic about Grid has become more and more popular, and the researches about it have increased as well. It is admitted that Internet brings about the communication of the computer hardware and that Web renders the communication of the web pages. The Grid attempts to achieve the overall communication of all the resources available in the Internet: Computing Resource, Storage Resource, Communication Resource, Software Resource, Information Resource, Knowledge Resource and so on.Derived its concept from the Grid, Data Grid is the application and realization of the Grid technology in the area of data management, that is, a new system which can transparently visit various data sources under the Grid circumstances. The crucial technology of the Data Grid consists of the Metadata Management, Catalogue Service, Replica Management, High-speed Data Transfer and Safety Technology. As the campus grid system has the feature of the common Grid systems, we regard campus grid system as a prototype grid system and we study the data management based on it.By means of the study of the crucial technology of the Data Grid, we not only put forward the approach to Data Replication, the regulation system of Cache Management and the method of Data Segmentation but also analyze and compare the creation strategy of inter-domain replication of Data Replica Management and discuss the impact on data transmission capability of the data segmentation.On Such bases, a data service with the Campus Grid as its background is created, which in turn employs the crucial technology of the Data Grid, emphasizing the designs of the file management system, such as the design of the file names, the design of the Catalog Structure, the File Access Interface, the design of the Data Replication, the Cache Management of the files, the File transfers and in which the realization of the Models is also included. The study above paves the way for the future establishment of a more comprehensive Campus Grid.
