Research On Design Of Embedded USB Host System

USB (Universal Serial Bus) technology is being developed at full speed. The simplified USB system includes two subsystems: USB host system and USB slave system. Technology of development on USB slave system and USB host system based on PC has been already very mature, however, implement of USB host system based on embedded system encountered many difficulties because of abundant resources on the PC and limited resources on embedded system. Embedded USB host system has very fine application prospects in the fields of data stores and data exchanges.The main principle of this thesis is to implement USB host system function in the embedded system without operating system, establish FAT file system on USB flash disk and implement the read and write function to USB flash disk. The content of the thesis is arranged as follows: At first it mainly introduces background, research situation and prospect of USB system and embedded USB host system. The second part is mainly about specification and theories that involved in embedded USB host system. The following part introduces a designment instance of embedded USB host system without operating system from such several respects as the overall design of system, software and hardware designing and system testing. Finally it is summarization and prospect of USB system.
