The Design And Achieve Of Educational Metropolitan Area Networks

Nowadays with the rapid development of informationization in education, the educational metropolitan area networks (EMAN) have played an important role in improving the administration of education management and the quality of education.Based on the integrated theories of networks, the thesis, provides a resolution for the building of EMAN that will meet the needs of the development of informationization in education of Haikou city with a detailed analysis on its structural model, operating system, characteristics and functions. In Introduction, the technological characteristics and structural model of EMAN have been analyzed and the designing principles and methods briefly introduced.In the following sections, based on the structural model, the platforms for communication, resources, safety management and applications are discussed in sequence.In the design of platform for network communication, the principles and methods of building EMAN with VPN technology are focused. The applications of VLAN and WLAN in networks of Education Bureaus, the technology of IP address assignment and interface are introduced.With the application of the latest technology in server, storage and back-up system, the platform of EMAN resources is presented in detail based on the Browser/Server structure and SAN storage technology.Considering there are large population of users and wide range of covering, the program for safety and management of EMAN of Haikou are discussed with the application of the latest technology.Different applied modules like Educational Information Net, Educational Management Center, Educational Resource Center, Distance Learning Center and MAN Management & Service Center are introduced in the design of application platform.The last section is a summative assessment and a tentative plan for EMAN for future completion.
