Bluetooth is a new promising technology for short-range wireless connectivity between mobile devices. It can be applied to mobile phones, laptops, digital cameras, and cordless headsets and allows users to interconnect these devices easily and quickly without cables. Bluetooth is an open standard for wireless connectivity with supporters mostly from PC and cell phone industries. Its primary market is for data and voice transfer between communication devices.This thesis mainly discuss creation of bluetooth piconet and topology optimal scheme of wireless personal area network. To all things considered, I simultaneously analyze buletooth system and its core technologies. The thesis mostly consists of five parts. In the first and second parts, the article generally describes the architecture and features of Bluetooth wireless communication technology, and compares a few correlative wireless technologies in detail, which prevail all over the world now. After doing it, the third part systemically summarize and expatiate on the core technologies and protocols of Bluetooth. During discussing, I emphasize the problems of hopping frequency interference and security of bluetooth system. By analyzing these problems, I put forward some solutions to them, or some pertinent advice. In the fourth chapter, I design example of a piconet created, which is essential unit in bluetooth wireless personal area network. By the example, we can distinctly get a necessary process on creating piconet. This instance is creation of bluetooth '3 in 1' telephone piconet. In hardware, I used radio IC UAA3558 and baseband IC PCF87750 of Philips corporation, and realized the interface between them. In software, I define software flow and realized a few functions. The example mentioned above is only a foundational unit of bluetooth WPAN. When bluetooth piconets overlap each other, bluetooth WPAN on the basis of scatternet will be create. In the fifth part of this thesis, I select and discuss the optimizing topology problem of some unsolved problems in bluetooth WPAN, and bring forward a centralized routing optimal scheme(CVOS). This optimization approach is based on a model derived form the constrains on the bluetooth WPAN structure and capacity. By using it, we find the optimal topology created that minimize the traffic load of the most congested node in the network.
