The Research Of Application Of Embedded Bluetooth Protocols In Piconet

Bluetooth is first put forward by Ericsson in 1994 as a short range radio communication technology. The initial aim of it is to realize the replacement of cable and to merge the communication and computer technology. The special Interest Group of Bluetooth established in 1998 and its Bluetooth Specification has greatly promoted the publication of Bluetooth. Hitherto, there have been over 2500 companies in the SIG, including almost all the most distinguished companies in communication and computer technology. And with the development of the technology, the application of Bluetooth has reached the fields of information household appliances, computer, traffic, medical treatment and industry auto-control systems and etc.Bluetooth specification depicts the protocols that used in the establishment of wireless connection between Bluetooth modules and inter-service and applications of the Bluetooth. Additionally, Bluetooth specification also includes the protocols used in the realization of various application models devised by SIG. In order to insure the interoperation, Bluetooth specification adopts the layer-structure used by OSI in its protocol system.Bluetooth protocols involve two classes: the core protocols and optional ones. The former one includes Baseband, LMP, L2CAP, and SDP. While the latter one includes the ones that already existed. And Bluetooth protocol also include HCI, which provide a unite command access to the lower protocols and hardware state.Since the key technology lies in the devise and production of the Bluetooth chip, however, the domestic chips can' t contest with the abroad ones nowadays, so in our project, Ericsson' s chip and CSR' s are adopted, and the focus is placed on the realization of function of Bluetooth by means of the realization of upper protocols.The procedure is to embed the upper protocols into the microprocessor, enable it to complete initiation of the Bluetooth modules, search for other Bluetooth unites within the piconet andestablish the physical link, then through the transceiver andprocessing in the HCI, the logical links are setup, and the wireless information transporting of Bluetooth is achieved.
