With the development of publishing industry and the improvement of computer and information technology, a new industry ?network publishing industry ? has emerged. Network publishing is that legal publishing organizations edit and copy their productions, and then distribute them to the society through internet. In this process, internet is media, carrier and currency channel. Compared with traditional publishing, network publishing has significant advantages of big capability, fast transmission and renewal, convenient and efficient search with hyper text format; in the meanwhile, production cost and resource can be largely saved, flow of production and distribution can also be effectively reduced. It is a significant revolution in the history of publishing. It changed the media, concept and business model of traditional publishing as well as the information environment of human beings. To improve and upgrade Chinese traditional publishing industry, it is an inevitable trend to develop the network publishing.This thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter one presents the overviews of network publishing and network publishing industry, including the definition, feature, advantage and phylogeny. Chapter two demonstrates the significance of developing network publishing industry in China and focuses our attention on three important forms of network publishing: electronic book, print-on-demand and digital library to analyze existing problems and obstacles. Chapter three further analyzes the current status and perspective of the development of Chinese network publishing industry from the viewpoint of internet users, and then proposed some corresponding instructive strategies for the amalgamation of traditional.and network publishing, market subdivision, service and marketing,price and bland. In chapter four, we propose some detailed strategies of developing Chinese network publishing industry, such as strengthen macro management, establish industry institute, encourage technology innovation, unify standards and criterions, build quality assurance system, cultivate corresponding professionals and experts, and enhance protection of intellectual property.
