The Research Of The AC Filter In HVDC Converter Station

In electrical power system, the harmonics that created by many kinds of harmonic sources have made pollution to the whole power system. Recently, the effect becomes more severity. And it has been seen as the important parameter of the electrical energy.The thyristor valve is the main harmonic source that creates harmonics in operation. These harmonic current will inflow in the AC power system through the converter transformers and effect the normal operation of AC/DC system without any limitation. Based on the Back-to-Back Project for the Northwest and Central China Connection, This report studies the harmonics and AC filter at AC side in the HVDC converter station. Through the calculation, the filters have been selected corresponding with voltage harmonic distortion standard. And the steady state rating of the parameters are calculated.The results of research and calculation have been written in Back-to-Back research report and checked and confirmed by the DC section of State Power Corporation.
