Automatic control represents one of the most important factors responsible for the efficiency and reliability of wind power conversion systems. Thus far, only a few isolated applications of conventional control to wind power systems have appeared in the literature. To make wind power generation truly economical and reliable, advanced Control techniques are imperative. In this paper we develop a control scheme for wind turbine using nonlinear and adaptive control theory. Based on both mechanical and electrical dynamics, nonlinear and adaptive control algorithms are derived to on-line adjust the excitation winding voltage of the generator. This method is shown to be able to achieve smooth and asymptotic rotor speed tracking, as justified by both analysisandcomputersimulation. As this paper' s primary part, we mainly study the application of the new rising science-intelligent control in wind energy control system. A fuzzy logic control technique has been implemented to design the tracking controller of the wind energy control system. A wind speed step model was used in the design phase. The performance of the wind energy control system with the proposed fuzzy logic controller is tested using real meteorological data. Its robustness and effectiveness are demonstrated by the simulation results of the controlled system.Asthis paper' s last part, as wind is an uncontrolled and stochastic source of power because its speed is continuously changing in magnitude and direction, thus make the fuzzy control system much more complicated and uncertain. The controller is designed by state feedback for each local model separately. The stability of the whole closed-loop fuzzysystem listing the maximum power from the wind energy system and transferring this power to utility, also proved via the piecewise Lyapunov function.
