It is one of the communications way with wide development prospect to Spread Spectrum communication, And apply to military communication and civil communication extensively. The concept of the Software Radio gets extensive approval too in recent years, become the new focus of the communication field.This article will be discussed a kind Shortwave section Spread Spectrum modulator based on Software Radio which will be used in maritime naval vessel communication. In this kind Spread Spectrum modulator, we use Direct Digital frequencies Synthesis( DOS) and digital Signal Processors( DSP) chip as the key parts of Spread Spectrum modulator, by Controlling the out of DOS to achieve the goal of modulating with DSP.The concrete performance index of the Spread Spectrum modulator and whole plan of design have appeared in the article. Have designed the concrete hardware circuit, and debug and pass. It is from software programming realizations Direct Serial Spread Spectrum modulate ( DS-SS), Frequency Flip Spread Spectrum modulate ( FH-SS) , Spread Spectrum and Frequency Flip mix Spread Spectrum modulate ( FH/DS) and a lot of other Spread Spectrum modulate. And analyzes the exported signals of BPSK Spread Spectrum modulate. The result is better.At function that the hardware realize and performance' s analysis we find out and Spread Spectrum modulator have good performance, Can finish the request that put forward in the subject , and has possessed the characteristic of the Software Radio. The associations of DSP and DOS demonstrate good performance , we can say that it is an ideal platform to realize the Software Radio.
