The Research Of The Symbolic Form Of Talk Show

Talk show is one of the most popular television programs in resent years in our country. The present of talk show manifests the respect of the people's right of speaking, it is a reflection of social progress.There are many research about talk show, however, many of them are fragmentary, they only focus on one facet of the programs. To give a comprehensive research of talk show, I try to use semiology to dispart the signs existing in talk show program into two parts, one is abstract sign system, another is material sign system. The abstract sign system researches how to choose the topic, and the language of the program (the theory of narration), and the style of the compere's language; the material sign system researches the technique, such as scene, lighting, and other factors, and also study how to cut and edit the film.In this thesis, I try to use the semiology to do a research about talk show all around in one frame of reference.
