Digital watermarking technology in the application of multimedia signal and its corresponding algorithms is studied in this paper. It begins with a discussion of some essential conceptions such as definition, category, application areas, existing representative algorithms, watermark attack and dimensions of performance. We assess the appropriations of watermarking for certain problem, broaden its usefulness and design and test three multiresolution-based and one DCT-based digital watermarking technique. That is, a multiresolution fusion-based watermarking technique algorithms for copyright protection are presented, which incorporates a model of the human visual system; on basis of introducing and formulating the authentication system and wavelet coefficient quantification, a fragile watermarking algorithms are given; an approach for embedding robustness and fragile watermarking algorithms based on channel estimation theory are presented; and a scheme for embedding and extraction of double robustness digital watermarking which avoids ownership disputability. Simulations of computer and dimensions of performance present the characteristics of the digital watermarking algorithms and theirs practicability of copyright protection and authentication of contents.
