The thesis describes the design process of 3D visualization of helicopter flight simulation. We develop the software foundation to simulate and validate the dynamics model of helicopter, in advantage of the multiple CPU and strong ability of processing graphics of SGI workstation.Now it is urgent to develop high-powered helicopter for national defence. And the development includes many complex and pivotal technology, such as non-linearity characteristic of dynamics and designing of non-linearity control system. In view of the development of computer technology, it is feasible to simulate a helicopter, flight environment and control system designing by computer. After establishing dynamics model of helicopter, we can design the control system for the helicopter, using the most advanced method. We can make our system gain the most excellent performance by repeating trial. So it is a efficient research measure to simulate helicopter mobile flight, which is used to design high-powered helicopter.The thesis expound dynamics model of a certain minitype helicopter and design control augmentation system (CAS) for the helicopter. At last, the author design and develop the 3D visualization simulation platform for helicopter, using Visual C++ and OpenGL.
