Relation Of Land Use Change And Population Development In Karst Areas

In the new historical period,the people pay more attention to Land Use Change by the country improving the demands of coordinating population,resources,environment development.ICBP and LHDP raise the plan of Land Use / Land Cover Change which the simple name is LUCC,so LUCC is becoming one of the most important and interesting problems of the study of global environmental change.In the plan it point out three areas of focus.The study of the driving mechanism of LUCC is very important in the study of LUCC.The driving mechanism of LUCC includes natural factors and socio-economic factors.Natural factors is the main driving mechanism of LUCC of long time scale change,like climate,hydrology etc..Socio-economic factors is the main driving of LUCC of shor time scale change,like population change;technological progress,economic growth etc..Population factors is one of the most active driving forces.Population factors become more stronge to LUCC in Karst areas which is fragile ecology of the areas.Consider the study of LUCC in different region taking different contribution and response of global environmental change.The study of regional scale LUCC focus on "key areas","hot areas"and "vulnerable areas".The study of LUCC in fragile ecology of the areas in China focus on Loess region,Oasis region,Arid areas,Estuarine areas and agriculture and forestry/agro-pastoral transitional area,less in Karst areas.By using related statistical resources,the author chooses Guiyang city of Guizhou province as a case study to exploit relations of Land Use Change and population development in Karst areas.It is useful for recognizing the driving factors and mechanism of LUCC in Karst areas and is plentiful for studing LUCC in Karst areas in southwest China.It can offer the bases of the regional development strategy in this area.The whole paper includes six parts except postscript and content of each parts is as follows:Part one:The introduction.It recommends the background,the significance,the thinking,the reseach line,the content,the method and the history of the driving mechanism of Land Use Change.Part two:Analyse the regional characteristics of Guiyang city.In order to make the bases of studying the relation of Land Use Change and population development in Karst areas,we must know the regional characteristics of Guiyang city through analyzing regional condition like geographical location,traffic area,economic area etc.,geographical environment like geology,land forms, climate,hydrology,land,biological resources and mineral resources etc.,socio-economic environment like the level of economic development,social development.Part three:Analyse Land Use Change in Guiyang.Investigate the range of Land Use Change in Guiyang through studying the total rate of change and an average annual rate of change of the region of different pattern of Land Use and the rate of land use,the rate of land reclamation and construction area per capita;investigate the speed of Land Use Change through studying a single land-use dynamic degree and comprehensive land-use dynamic degree in Guiyang;investigate the land quality change in Guiyang through studying water and soil loss,the quality change of soil, changes in the proportion of paddy field and dry land.In the end,on the base of understanding Land Use Change,we use the principle of gray prediction model to forecast the trends of Land Use Change in Guiyang.Part four:Analyse the character and the trends of population development of Guiyang.In order to offer the base of the relation of Land Use Change and population development in Karst areas,we forecast the population trends of Guiyang using China's population projection softwore -CPPS which is offered by China Population Information Center.It is base on understanding population development in Guiyang near ten years.Part five:Study the relation of Land Use Change and population development in Guiyang. Building the theoretical model of the relation of Land Use Change and population development through analysing the impact of population development to Land Use Change and the role of Land Use Change to population development.Base on it,building the model of population differentiation of population and Land Use of Guiyang.Forecast the trends of the relation of land Use Change and population development of Guiyang in the future through studying the correlation analysis between total population and construction land,population urbanization and construction land,total population and arable land.Part six:The conclusions and the suggestions of this study.The conclusions is as follows:(1) Guiyang city is in the middle of Guizhou province.It is the political economic and cultural center and transport hub.It is one of the main city which develop the regional economy.It is the hinterland of coastal economic zone along the border,for example,Pan-Pearl River economic zone etc..It is the lower level economic development.The secondary industry is her main industry.It makes the radiation and leading role to the province economic.It is moderate rain in sub-tropical moist monsoon climate.There is more mountains and hills,less ground.There is 85 percent of Karst areas.There is more plentiful recourses of biological and deposits,less ware resourses.There is uneven rate of per capita land ownership and the danger of water and soil loss.There is the prominent questions of land conflicts.(2) There is bigger ranger and faster speed of Land Use Change.The change is more stronge of traffic land,other agricultural land and comer,less stronge of arable land and woodland.The trends of Land Use Change in the future is decreasing agricultural land and unused land,increasing construction land.(3) It is a positive correlation between the extent of Land Use and population density,the extent of Land Use and non-agricultural population,th proportion of total population.The composite index of Land Use is lower.It is in line with the fact of more mountains and steep slopes,lower level of economic development.(4) The total population is increasing,the level of non-agricultural population is improving.It is the highest area of the quality of the population and the population concentration areas in Guizhou province.The population focus on the areas which is together with financial and business in Guiyang basin.(5) The trends of Land Use Change is suited to the trends of population development.But population give bigger pressure to land.There is less per capita cultivated land and per capita land. There is less construction land which is appropriate to use.Man-land relationship is tension.
