As we know, Emile Durkheim is very concerned about education problems .And, when Durkheim coach at the University of Paris, he also begin as the education professor, not a professor of sociology. Durkheim said that, in fact, education itself is a kind of social phenomenon. So,his educational theory also penetrate the human and social concept, like all his other writings.And Pierre Bourdieu also devote tremendous effort to education, at the same time, his theory of education was cited most, attract and impact on the most people . This paper is divided into three parts to compare the education thought of Durkheim and Bourdieu: the first part introduce the significance of this paper, and literature, as well as the innovation of this paper.The second part is the focus of this paper; I will be specifically to compare them from three aspects. First, compare Durkheim and Bourdieu about the connotation of education ; Durkheim inclined to think that education is a free education, is a positive and reflective force, and Bourdieu think that education is a reproduction, concealed with violence ;Secondly, compare Durkheim and Bourdieu on the function of education , Durkheim believed that education can shape a person's soul and produce people, thus education achieved an integrated community, and Bourdieu think education only reproduce culture, reproduce social class and legalize inequalities ; at last, compare Durkheim and Bourdieu's perspective on the organizations of university .Durkheim said,Universities are places for rational spirit and reflection ,having a certain autonomy;and Bourdieu said, Universities are places of the classification and segmentation, having a dual arbitrary feature.The third part, at present, China's university education do exist some problems, we must cultivate the spirit of rational and humanistic spirit in the universities, and promote the universities to be fair.
