Aesthetic Education Magazine And The Development Of New Aesthetic Education In "Wusi Period"

Aesthetic Education Magazine, which is academic, common and propagated, is the first copy aesthetic education academic magazine in the history of Chinese education. With the new thoughts and the New Literature Movement influencing and the New Knowledge Group improving, such as Cai Yuanpei, Li Shutong and so on, it was foundedby the first aesthetic education academic union --Zhonghua Aesthetic EducationUnion, in April, in 1920,in Shanghai. It was a common place and a main position to exchange their thoughts and discuss how to improve aesthetic education in practice. From the process of operation and the basic ideas and thought tendency of the articles in the magazine, we can see that it had great influence on the development of new aesthetic education in "Wusi Period" and actively promoted the development of new aesthetic education in theory and in practice. It should take up a position in the history of Chinese education, the history of Chinese press and the history of Chinese aesthetic education. So the magazine is worth doing research for us from many sides, including its setting, scale, format, influence and its historical meaning etc. So far, however, few people deeply researched the magazine and even nobody concerned its relation with the development of new aesthetic education in "Wusi Period" in the academic field. So, in the view of the Aesthetic Education Magazine, penman described the development process of the magazine in details.The thesis mainly included four parts expect the preface and the conclusion. In the preface, penman briefly introduced the definition of "aesthetic education", the research condition, research methods and meanings. The first part discussed the background of founding Aesthetic education magazine from three aspects, including the influence of new thoughts, new literature in "Wusi Period", the birth of new knowledge group and the foundation of Zhonghua Aesthetic Education Union. The second part described the process of operating the magazine, including its foundation and operation, the education background of the editors and authors. The third part analyzed the basic ideas and thought tendency of the magazine. The fourth part explored the influence on the new aesthetic education in "Wusi Period" from the theory and the practice. In the conclusion summed up the whole content of the thesis and analyzed the development of aesthetic education and the limitation of the thesis.
